went junkin~

Not very often do you find a good store full of great junk around here, but when my hunny told me of one the other day, I said..."lets go".  He said that he had heard about this guy who had bought this building from this other guy who had died (bought it from his family).  This guy that died used to go to auctions and what he bought, he kept in this building.  Well, the guy that bought the building wants everything out of it, so he is opening the door and what ever you can find, he takes a look at it and shoots you a price.

So, my hunny was gracious enough to take me today; he has a terrible cold and didn't really feel the best, but he was a trooper! :)  I wished I would have had my camera to take pictures......OH....MY GOODNESS!!!!!!! I am telling you.......this building was huge and it had a path,.....YES JUST A PATH thru it, there was stuff stacked to the ceiling of this old building!!!! The guy out front was sitting in a chair, he hands you a flash light and in ya go!  It will take several trips to be able to see everything, there is just SO much stuff and it's stacked, so you can't see everything. I will have to see if I can get down there again and I will take my camera so you can see!!!! It's a combo of American Pickers and Hoarders; no kidding!

This is what I ended up with.....

I ended up with a silve pitcher, wire basket, vintage door knobs, tins and a square jar, a container with vintage sewing needles and little wooden sewing needle containers, an old Sears and Roebuck catalog(dated 1908) and a crate box; oh, ya and the old sled. I didn't get to carried away because I didn't know what he was going to charge me.  I will definately have my hunny take me back, there is more I want to get! :)

I hope your Saturday was a good one!

That would definitely be a fun place to stumble through (literally if you're carrying a flashlight! LOL)!

A friend and I were just talking about how saltines used to come in a metal can with a lid. Funny!

Hi Jodi...I can't believe you bought that saltine cracker tin. I used to have one that belonged to my grandmother...I have lost track of it along the way and now can't find it anywhere. I have a feeling it got tossed at some point. Enjoy your treasures! ~Ann

I love American Pickers! They recently went to Hobo Jack's and I told my husband I'd like to go find him one day! Lucky you! Could you please copy me?! Maybe then I wouldn't feel so awkward about actually wearing it out!
