my mother's day~

I hope that you are all having a wonderful Mother's Day; hope that you got to relax and enjoy your day, hope that your family waited on you hand and foot and took care of all the cooking and cleaning!

Before we get to my Mother's Day.....Don't forget the GREAT BAG GIVEAWAY ! I will draw the name tomorrow night when I get off work; so you will have to wait. :) BUT.... I am going to let you enter all day tomorrow until 7:00 (central time).  SO.....GO HERE  all you have to do is be a follower and leave me a comment that you are!!!! Easy.

My Mother's Day.....I was up and out of bed by 6:15 a.m........yes I said 6:15 AM!  Out the door by 7:00 AM and on my way to the Susan G Koman Race for the Cure.  I ran my first 5k today!!!!!! My hunny ran with me and Beka was the photographer.

Quick family picture!

Getting ready to line up

Lots and Lots of people, over 3,000 people walked or ran

Can you imagine running 3.1 miles in this suit??????

Finished......WHHHOOOOOOO HHOOOOOOO!!!

Tonight we headed to my In Law's house for supper, they are making bbq ribs....YUM(anything I don't have to cook is YUM!)

I wanted to post a picture of my MOM for Mother's Day, but my scanner is not working and the only picture I have of her is a regular picture! Anyway..... My MOM passed away June1, 2004 of a heart attack. I miss her terribly and I will probably start to cry as I write this.  Her and I were very close, I was the only girl out of 4 boys and the baby.  We did alot together and had some great chats. We became even closer when my Dad passed away in 1988 when I was a senior in high school, he had cancer; we were each other's "rock".  I miss her so much, not being able to ask her about parenting, cooking, just general "life" things that a daughter needs to know.  So I wish her Happy Mother's Day, I am sure she was watching me run today! :)

I hope you all had a wonderful day!!!

Your first 5K and up so early on Mother's Day - props to you!!! Congrats on finishing, and on a different note, what your wrote about your Mom was very touching. I'm sad that you've lost both of your parents, but how wonderful that you have great memories.

Your mother was most definitely watching from above and I dare say she was pretty proud! I would like to start walking in races but I can't imagine running. Well done! I am the only daughter in my family too. I have 3 brothers who I love but they have a totally different relationship with my parents than I do. I'm glad you had such a nice day...and I hope you are having a great weekend! ~Ann
