memorial weekend and demo~

I hope that everyone had a nice and relaxing Memorial Day weekend! We have been busy in between the rain, the wind and work; we have managed to tear down the shed and finished getting that all cleaned up today.

When I was cleaning things up today, the floor of the shed was lined with old linoleum and under that was this....

NEWSPAPER from 1965! It was fun to see what was in the paper in 1965! Check out the washer!

Saturday's, "art in the park", was a dud, it was rainy and cold, most of the artists and vendors did not show.....even the KETTLE CORN was not to be found! I was so bummed; so no pictures. :( .

Saturday night Beka, her bestie and her bestie's mom went to the Taylor Swift concert; they had a blast!

Sunday was rainy and cold, we stayed in the house and ate!!

Maid rites (aka sloppy joes, taverns) and brownies and ice cream (sorry, no picture; it was half way gone before I thought to take a picture!).

We also started on the mud room/ laundry area.  Oh, yes, you didn't know we we were going to demo that area too????? :)  I figured, we had that nice dump trailer I borrowed from work to tear down the shed, we might as well tear the paneling off the walls in the the mud room! :)  Hunny was alittle reluctant, knowing it was going to be more work than "just tearing off paneling"! :)  BUT.... I got him to agree, and so we tore into it! so sorry for the poor pictures, my camera has been givng me fits!

starting the demo.... When we redid the inside of the house when we bought it, we did nothing out here, but put in the floor. They put in new base moulding, but I never finished painting it! :)Oh, well, we are not going to save it, we are putting in new.

This room is really long or wide, how ever you look at it. It runs the same width as the whole house, my washer, dryer and freezer sit on one end  and then the bench and shelf were at the other end. See Beka's tie dyed projects! :)

This room has lots of doors, it has 3 doors and then a doorway into the kitchen!

I have been searching for inspiration for this room for a while; here's what I love!

I am excited to get started on it! The drywall is not bad, I was so glad that the paneling was not glued or I would have been in BIG trouble! I just need to have someone come and patch some holes and texture it! Thank goodness I work in the drywall business; I am hoping that I can get some co-workers here this week! :)

So, that's my weekend in a nutshell! Oh, I wanted to show you my flowering cranberry bushes are blooming, they are so pretty.

Okay, so off to work tomorrow for a short day, and then it's time to get ready for dance recital! Beka has pictures and stage practice tomorrow! :) Busy Busy!

This is a long post, I hope I didn't overwhelm you! :)  I'll keep you all posted on the mud room redo! :)

One more thing, there is this cemetary just south of town, it's just beautiful on Memorial Day, they line it with flags.  I always want to stop and take a picture; all I had was my phone, so it's not that great of a picture, and the wind was gusting up to 50 mph today!

Hope you had a nice weekend!

Take care!
