it's cold out~

I don't know where you are, but here it's COLD; the wind is blowing and there is some flurries in the air.  I makes me just want to snuggle down and sit by the fire; except I don't have a fireplace! BUT if I did, this is what I would like decorated for Christmas of course! :)

goodie goodie gumdrop~

okay, remember I promised a tutorial a while back on a super sweet wreath....well.....

I made some of these for the last craft fair, they are so cute and look so yummy! I have seen these everywhere and Martha has made a beautiful white one.

So you start with a regular green foam wreath, I used 12", then wrap clear packing tape around the one side where you will have the hanger.  Then I used green floral wire and wrapped it around and made a loop for the hanger, make sure that it is strong because this wreath gets very heavy! (sorry for the poor picture quality, it was at night and I have terrible lighting).

It takes about 3 pounds of gumdrops for this wreath, I just poured them in a bowl and started gluing, I didn't pay attention to the order that I grabbed them.  I used a hot glue gun, I have seen them put on the foam with broken off tooth picks, but I think the hot glue works the best.

You want to start from the out and work your way in, I didn't cover the back, just filled it enough that you wouldn't see it and that it would lay flat against the wall or door.  After you are done gluing, which took me a good 2 hours and a ton of hot glue, I let it dry overnight.  After it dried overnight, I sprayed it with a matte finish spray and sprinkled it with white glitter while the finish was wet. (sorry, i didn't get a picture of that part) I love how it turned out, some of my gumdrops were not perfectly shaped, but it turned out, we squeezed some of the smaller ones into the tighter spots. I think it would be sweet to put in a child's room or in the kitchen.  Just make sure no one tries to eat them!

I am off to continue decorating, can't wait to show you some pictures of Christmas on Cedar!

Oh, I wanted to show you what my Sis in Law gave me this weekend.  She works for a huge hospital in the "city" and they have a ball every year to raise money for the hospital.  These were decorations on the tables, she got me one, isn't it pretty, and would be so easy to make....really! There is some faux snow in the bottom with red and white balls of different sizes and a string of silver ball garland.  It would be a fun and inexpensive decoration for your table or decor.

Happy Thanksgiving~

Yes, it's me,....I got my computer back....yahhhhh! After I went to the library and posted that I was going to be down, I thought, boy that's pretty bad I had all that cleaning and baking to do, but I had to stop at the library to get on the computer to check out the blogs! I am addicted :)   Plus,.... I am at work now, blogging....ssssshhhhhhh, don't tell. :)

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving tomorrow.  Since I had my family last Sunday, I don't have to do anything tomorrow, but show up to eat and Hubby's folks. :)  I am off to do some shopping on Friday, Hubby goes with me every year, we actually have fun, but no getting up at 4:00 a.m. for me.

computer down~

My computer is down until Monday, I just hate it, it's like we are so lost without it.  Sometimes, I think it's actually not so bad, we end up spending some time together, and I actually get some things done around the house.  I am at the library right now, thought I would put in a quick note. :)

I am having Thanksgiving on Sunday for my family, so I have plenty to do.  I hope everyone has a great weekend. I hope to be back up and running Monday!

weekend recap~

Well I woke up Saturday morning to no electricity and 11 inches of snow, friday morning was nothing compaired to this!

Not a great start to my craft show day! So, my wonderful husband loaded all my stuff in the pickup and took us the 15 mile drive to the craft show.  Our roads were horrible, sometimes only one lane, but thank goodness for four wheel drive and a chaufer!

I was about an hour late to the show, but it went well.  I was excited to sell, and I got a great response on the pillows.  I had so much fun, I am going to try another show on Dec 4th! I guess all the stress was worth it.  Now let the stress begin for the next one.  Oh,...yah, I am having Thanksgiving on this Sunday for my family,.....It's a good thing I work well under pressure! :)

So here are a few pictures of the pillows that I took.  I did list some of them on my etsy shop.  I really would love to keep them all, but my hubby would kill me. :)  They can be made in any size besides what they are made. I love custom orders. :)

I am going to be working on some new ideas, will have to show you to see what you think!

I loved all your kind comments about the pillows and encouragement on the craft show! Thanks so MUCH!

I haven't forgotten about the turial on the wreath. I will get it on here, I need to get my pictures in order.  I hope you love it!

a peek~

I woke up today to this.....

I took today off of work to finish up and get things organized for the craft show tomorrow,....I am so stressed; i don't know why I do this to myself!  So, I was glad I didn't have to go to work, but I had to drive Beka to school in it which is 15 miles.  The highways were slushy but not too bad.  It's a good day to stay inside and sew. :)

SO......here is a sneek peek of just a few of the pillows I have.

What doesn't sell will be put on my etsy shop, plus I am planning on making most of what I make for the craft show for the shop too.

Have a great weekend! Don't forget, I have that tutorial on that super sweet wreath coming up too. :)

weekend recap~ a little late.....

Better late than never,....right?? The weekend was gone in a flash, but we managed to get in a little shopping....Hobby Lobby( I heart Hobby Lobby).  I could have spent hours in there, but with my hunny sitting in the truck in the parking lot,....we had to hurry a bit. :)  I ended up getting some Christmas fabric and some jingle bells ( projects to come). Sunday we raked leaves

Then we carved our pumpkins, it was kind of  a rush rush, but I thought they turned out okay. Beka designed the faces.

me looking intense at carving, this is not usually my job, but my hunny is out mowing the yard

This one looks like he has a snotty nose, I did clean him up. :)
I was going to take a picture of them lit up, but didn't get it done....The night went by so fast! I hope everyone had spooktacular Halloween! Now to get it all put away and ready for Thanksgiving! :)
