christmas home tour~

I am finally getting around to getting my decorating done.  Even though i simplified this year, it seems it has taken me just as long as it does when I go "all out" with my decorating.

I have been busy with etsy orders, which makes me super duper happy! :)  We have had alot going on here in our household, lots of changes, but I will fill you in on that later; they are good, kind of!  I would have loved to get alot more Christmas designs in the etsy store but I ran out of time; you know how that goes!

I just can't believe how this month or this year for that matter has flown by, Christmas is almost here! I hope you are all ready! I have visited lots of blogs, the homes and decor are beautiful! I am usually running clear till the very minute before my family arrives on Christmas Eve, fixing things and rearranging things, cooking and cleaning!

Here is a look into my home this year, come on in......

This is the entry into the mud room.  I am still hoping to get a picture gallery on the wall soon, it's a work in progress, but for now, I just have a few of my favs on the ledge.

This is a little metal bucket I found "junking" and filled it with fresh greens and cuts from my dogwood bush; added a few red christmas balls.

sleepy dog.....see her new christmas collar from Anna they are always the cutest! Okay, back to the tour.

My Mom and Dad's graduation pictures, they don't normally stay up at Christmas time, usually the buffet is all decorated for Christmas, but this year....keeping it simple. :)

Master bedroom

The tree at night.

Beka's tree.

I collect snowmen and this is one of my favorites.  He changes color and has a little motor in him that swirls glitter around like a snowglobe; he is fun to watch!

I hope you enjoyed the tour. Have a nice rest of the weekend; this coming week will be a whirlwind for me!

goings on and a christmas peek~

Hi all, I hope you haven't forgotten me! I have been busy, but nothing really to show for it; you know how that goes! It's my birthday today.....they seem to come faster and faster! So, I am off today, trying to get somethings done around here.  Hoping I get to go out for supper; who wants to cook on their birthday, right!

It's begining to look a little Christmasey(is that a word?) around here. I am trying to simplify this year and not put out so much; so we will see.

I am also working on some Christmas pillows for my etsy shop and will continue to add some more!

We had our first snow this last weekend; 6 1/2 inches to be exact! Guess who loved it? We couldn't keep her in the house on Saturday; she was just like a kid running and playing in the snow!

I hope not be be a stranger around here, I have lots more Christmas decor to show you!
Take care....Jodi

weekend snippet~

Happy Sunday All! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

We have had a busy week, I had Thanksgiving today for my family and then on Thanksgiving day we go to hunny's parents home.  So, I have been busting my behind trying to get my house in order for Thanksgiving.

Saturday, we started the day out with freezing rain. I got to try out my new rain boots, love them, really need some liners in them I think! :)

Luckily with the freezing rain it didn't stick to the roads, only on the grass, trees and the grill on the patio.

So, the day was spent snuggled in blankets where it was warm inside.....

baking pumpkin pies........

and apple pies.......

So that today, I could to use my Mom's dishes and spend an awesome day with my family and eat some delicious food!

Happy Sunday!

happy sunday and catching up~

Happy Sunday All! I hope that your weekend was wonderful! We are having some nice fall weather, cool, but sunny! :)

I have some chatching up to do. Halloween was good, we had about 50 kids; which is pretty good for us here in our small town!

Beka and Hunny carved a pumpkin......it turned out pretty good!

I made Beka a tutu for her costume, she was a ballerina for Key Club at school; she decided to put it on to hand out candy. :)  Miss Bailey dog didn't care so much for the trick or treater coming to the door.

I made the The Pioneer Woman's Chicken Strips for supper.  Defintely would make them again, Beka LOVED them and they were easy to make.  We had with them cheesy hashbrowns and corn. I am hoping to score her cookbook for Christmas! :) I love cookbooks with lots of pictures and step by step instructions.

So, that's about it in a nutshell! :)  I guess, one more thing,  I twisted my ankle yesterday while walking Bailey.  We were headed to the park and I was just stepping off of the curb and she pulled and down I went.  So, today is a slow day of laying on the couch.  I will be fine, but it's going to be sore for a while and I am sure it will turn all sorts of lovely bruisey colors!

Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Happy Fall!

sunday morning walk~

I headed out this morning, like I do almost every Sunday morning for my walk. This time I decided to take my camera.  It has been so beautiful on the trail lately, I thought I would capture a bit of nature to share.

This trail is 4 miles around this beautiful, but very small lake. I have had trouble with my hip being out of place this last week, so I only went half way around today.

It started out overcast this morning and about 45 degrees.

a couple of 'ol guys fishing this early morning

I love all this tall grass. usually there are a few deer around, but not this morning.

This is my favorite spot. I love all the trees and usually the trail is covered in leaves in the fall, so that when you walk, you shuffle thru all the leaves.

The sun starting to peek out from the clouds.

wooly caterpillar. popular myth of the wooly caterpillar......larger number of brown bands in the middle ....a warm winter is expected; smaller number of brown bands ....a severe winter is expected!

Geese starting to head south! Oh, I wish I could! :)

Have a great Sunday!

we are ready for halloween~

We are ready for Halloween in the house, how about you?

I love Halloween, usually I go way over board, but this year have decided to simplify a bit.  My Mom's birthday was on Halloween, so it was always a fun and busy day.  I remember when I was little, my Mom and my Aunt would make carmel apples and carmel corn and roast pumpkin seeds..... that was such a great memory! I love when I came home from school and Aunt Carol was at our house, her and my Mom were always whipping up something!

Here are a few peeks around the house.

Even Bailey dog is ready for Halloween! We got her an awesome cool collar from Anna.  I just love her collars, they are very sturdy (which is great for Bailey because she is so strong) and very nicely made. I can't wait to get her a cute Christmas collar! :)

Here are some peeks back in time.  We have not done a yard display for a couple of years.  We can't find the assortment of pumpkins and gourds around here anymore.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
