pb inspired painted flag pillow~

I love Pottery Barn and am super excited when i receive a catalog in the mail. I scour the catalog for inspiration as does every one else! I even keep them forever, if you are looking for a Pottery Barn catalog from April 2008, I am sure I have it!

Anyway, I have seen this pillow and LOVED it, would love to own it, BUT, I also think that I can make it!

Mine is smaller and a little different, but I like how it turned out! It was super easy, I had all the supplies on hand.  I used a 12 x 16 pillow form and I had the canvas material and also the paints. I used a star stamp for my stars.

I had a couple of other 4th of July projects I wanted to get done, but haven't. I guess if anything, I will have my pillow out for my decor!  Oh, do you see that blue clay tag on the candle?  Yes, that is another project started.  They are super cute clay tags in turquoise with a teeny tiny star fish on them! I love them and plan on making more on white clay. I think that they will look so cute with a "beachy" theme decor.

And since you haven't seen Bailey today, .....

Isn't she just so cute, now if she was just potty trained! She is doing pretty well and she didn't cry all night last night; which is GOOD! We need to teach her how to drink out of her bowl and not try and swim in it! :)

freckled laundry

Have a great rest of the day!

happy sunday, it's a warm one~

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday and Father's Day!

We have been working on the mud room, trying to get things done! The trim is going up.....

We have hit a bump in the road which has slowed us down.....

Uh,....yes, that's the temp in my house!!! Our air quit on Friday night and no one has the part to fix, nor can it be ordered until tomorrow.  Last night it wasn't too bad, today is warm! Atleast we went to my in laws for supper tonight for Father's Day; it was nice and cool over there! :)

I did get a new camera this weekend! I LOVE it, so much better than my ol' kodak! :)

So Saturday, since we didn't have air, we decided to head out for a little road trip.  We headed over to where the flooding is on the Missouri River.  We went to this really cool nature center that had a look out tower you could see for miles. I tested out my new camera!

Many of the small towns around are preparing for the flood.

We had a nice little afternoon get away.  The weekends go by so fast, i think this is the only time I am ready to go to work tomorrow......they have air conditioning there! :)

Happy Father's Day to my hunny!

no wiww, but what i'm reading~

I didn't do a What I Wore Wednesday this week, it's just too crazy around here with trying to work on the mud room, trying to decide on paint, and trying to get everything done before our puppy comes! I tell you, I am so ready for this project to be done; I am tired of my dirty laundry in the kitchen and the shoes all over the place and the dust.......you can't imagine the dust!

The paint color dilema.......well, I decided to keep the gossamer blue, tried the lighter last night, I like the darker; so it stays!

And like I have nothing else going on, I got a book at the library; not sure when I will have time to read it, but...... It is really good so far; highly recommended!

Happy Wednesday!

a peek~

I thought I would share a peek at the mud room! I just got back from a quick (1 hr drive one way!) trip to the city again tonight(but I got to eat at Famous Daves!)! :) We had to run up to get a few more things for the mud room; and more paint.......DIFFERENT paint.   I primed and painted most of the day on Sunday, I liked the color when it went on, but the more I looked at it, I am not sure I like it. I mean, I like the color alot, I am just not sure that I want it that dark....tell me what you think.

It's called Gossamer Blue; and here it is on the wall ( take note this is 9:30 at night and I have to use the flash, so it looks more powdery BLUE)...

So, tell me what you think. The bottom is going to be white board and batten and the paint I got tonight is a lighter shade and I was going to put that on the doors.  I get a beachy feel when I am out there, which is not a bad thing, I like it.  I don't know...... I am up in the air! Do I repaint the walls the lighter color I got for the doors and paint the doors the darker color???? HELP!!!

we're expecting!!!! and trip to the city~

Surprise, you didn't know....did you that we are expecting! We are so excited, it's going to be a big adjustment for all of us to have a little one around here again; and it's a girl!!!  My poor hunny out numbered by girls again!

Yup, so our life is going to change, we are going to be busy around here, that's why we are trying to get all of our projects done around here! It's crunch time; it won't be long and she will be here!

one of these little blonde beauties is going to be ours; these are just the girls, Mom had 8 all together! They are so adorable, they are yellow labs born on May 5th.  She will be able to come home the week after Father's Day; so that we are trying to get our projects done. It's been 3 years since we have had a dog; we had a German Shorthair, Sissy, for 16 years! Beka is SO excited, she can hardly wait to have her sweet little pup at home!

So yesterday, both hunny and I took a half day off and off we went to the "city" to buy our material for the mud room and stop at Petsmart and buy some baby toys and supplies; oh and quick trip to Michaels to get some more supplies to make some clay tags. :)

I didn't go with any of my paint choices that I showed you; it's going to be a surprise...do you like surprises????

Also, I don't know if you have heard too much about the flooding in the midwest along the Missouri River, but here are a few pictures from the "city" which is right along the river!  It's amazing how much water; very scary and I feel so bad for the people that have to worry about their homes being taken over by water. They are talking that we will have this flooding for months! There are whole towns that are evacuating; I just couldn't imagine!

This is a YMCA that is sandbagged all around it!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I am hopefully going to get alot done this weekend on the mud room!

dance recital and mud room progress~

Finally summer can begin, we are done with Beka's dance recital! Last week was busy, busy!  We started out with stage practice, pictures, then dress rehearsal and recital on Saturday and Saturday night and then recital again on Sunday night!  All this going on and we are keeping busy with the mudroom/ laundry!

my little girl is taller than me!

We laughed because she had 2 outfits, but we kept taking pictures in the same outfit!

They finished texturing my mudroom/ laundry on Sunday afternoon (so nice to have connections; they came on the weekend!). Now I need to prime and paint. I am hoping to prime soon and get to the "city" to the Benjamin Moore store to get my paint.  I am so undecided on the color.  I am a beige kind of girl, but my family wants something different.  We are doing board and batten on the walls, I am so excited; I love board and batten!

Well,..... I better get going, lots to do!
Take care.....
