weekend recap~

I can't believe the weekend is over already; where does the time go??  We have had a "girl's" weekend; Beka and I left the "Dad" at home and we went to the "city" shopping yesterday for the day.  We had fun and were both so tired when we got home. Hubby did his "guy" thing and went hunting for the day; that's were he is again today! I think sometimes he gets so tire of being with the girls and dreads getting drug to the mall, that he needs some "boy" time and so off he goes!  Anyway, Beka and I got some bargains and of course we hit Michael's; I LOVE that place, but walked out with only 1 sack!!!!!

I have been itchin' to do some redecorating around here, so we headed to the Benjamin Moore paint store and this is what I came up with.

Hubby is gone next week for a while for work, and I always get the redecorating urge. I am looking at the kitchen, so I am hoping to get some painting done when he is gone.

Also, remember last week's craft day all that glitter!! Well this is what I finished.

I found these super cute mini clothes pins and painted glue on them and then glittered them with red and pink glitter.  I then used my cricut and cut out the shapes and letters and then just pinned them with my clothes pins. I really like the little clothes pins, they are super cute, I may do more of these and in different colors; even tho they are a mess! For the musical hearts, I took a sheet of music and copied it onto cardstock and then cut with my cricut; you could easily do without the cricut too!

I also made one of these

I added a few white rolled roses to the red wreath and hung it on my back door; it's suspended by a white ribbon too.  These wreaths are so easy to make, but they take a long time to cut out the felt circles.  I started with a styrofoam wreath form and  I bought a yard of red felt, because I thought if I have some left over, I will always use it.  I found a dixie cup and used that as my size ( i think they are about 2") and just started cutting and cutting!

Once you get done cutting just fold the circle in half and then in half again and pin with straight pins to the foam wreath! Super easy, these have been all over blog land; I am sure you have seen them or even made your own; I didn't have to tell you how to make them! :) I can use my red wreath for Valentines Day, Fourth of July and for Christmas if I wanted to.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  They are predicting another snow storm tonight and tomorrow and into Tuesday; I hope they are wrong!

craft day~

I should be cleaning, doing dishes and laundry, but I have decided it's a craft day. I have gotten out my glitter and my glue and gotten to work on a few projects.
If you look real close(behind the glitter) you can see a peek of what is going on! I have to tell you tho, I am a freak about glitter, I love it, but hate it! I am one of those that will not buy a card with glitter on it, I hate having it on my hands because more than likely it will end up on my face and all over.  But when I am crafting, I don't mind a little glitter, but I have to wash my hands the minute I get done!

I also took some wooden hearts that I got from Walmart and painted one with chalk board paint, made a little hole in it and this is what I came up with.

I don't normally do alot for Valentine's Day, but I have been so inspired with so many of you making some great things!  I have a couple more things I am working on, hopefully it won't be long and I can share!
Have a great weekend! Stay warm, I know I am trying!

I am definately going to be one of those "snow bird" people that when I retire, I am headed south to warmer weather; maybe I will become a permanent resident????

I hope you are all staying warm! I heard Saturday is going to be a heat wave.....22 degrees! :) Oh, I can't wait, maybe I will dig out my shorts :) Ha Ha!

snow day #2~

Uh, yah, that's two days in a row!!!! I am also home today too, again.....my vacation days are slipping away and it's not much of a "vacation"!!!  We, all 3 of us, started out at 6:30 a.m. this morning in the truck, because it has 4 wheel drive; school was 2 hours late, but Beka was going to sit with me at work.  We got about 2 miles out of town, it was horrible, the plows had not been out you couldn't see the road at all, and hubby's cell rang, it was a recording, school had been cancelled! So, we turn around and head back home, pack hubby some clothes(incase he couldn't get back home) and send him on his way. Beka was bummed she didn't get to sleep in, but was quick to make way to the recliner and under a blanket to watch tv for the rest of the morning! I did get some of my work done, they e-mailed it from work, so tomorrow won't be so crazy!!!

I  started on this yesterday and finished today.

It's a cute "market" bag in cream canvas with pink vintage floral in the inside. I was going to put it in my etsy store, but Beka has been clinging onto it.... tightly!!! I think that I will make another like it and I have some more cute "valentine" fabric that I will use too.

snow day~

It's a snow day here, sounds like maybe tomorrow too! I took today off, I could have rode to work with hubby (cuz, I HATE to drive in the snow), but I am still fighting this bronchitis, so I decided being out in the snow and cold was NOT a good idea.  We have lounged around today, Beka is still in her jammies :) we decided it was a good day to make.....chocolate chip cookies, yum, I can't stay out of them; hopefully there will be some left when hubby gets home from work!

I have also started on some Valentine stuff, can't wait to show you!

See you soon....Jodi

white decor~

Did you get your newest issue of Country Living? You have seen it everywhere, I know you have; the stark white walls and the crisp white furniture.
I love the crisp, clean look that it has, the pure look. White can look cozy, I think, if done the right way. All the colors of white, who knew white could look so different. Benjamin Moore Paints has hundreds of whites, I used a white on our base moulding called Mayonaise.

I do love the look of the neutral white, all furniture and walls, but I don't think that that look is for me, just not my style. I LOVE color and even tho I love these pictures, I love how they used a bit of color in with the white.

perfect for napping

Lovin the green walls

Cozy

I love the dark beams in the kitchen

That fireplace.....makes my heart pitter patter!

This whole room is my favorite. If i was going to do ALL white, this is what I would want!

perfect!

Maybe i will think about having a room in my house all white, the possibilities are endless!
